Tips for surgery in Turkey
Hello, this is Berat. I'm a plastic surgeon in Antalya/Turkey. Here are a few tips to help you reassure yourself before cosmetic surgery.
- Before coming to Turkey, make an online video consultation with the doctor who will perform the surgery. Get to know about him and inquire about his diploma.
- Choose a plastic surgeon instead of intermediary institutions or hospitals. There are organizations that try to attract patients with fake or stolen before-after photos and they work with inexperienced surgeons and very often the surgeon starts work and leaves. This means that you will not reach the same doctor if you have a problem. In fact, some brokerage firms are not legit. They only exist on Instagram. They get the surgery done by the doctor they found the cheapest.
- Ask which hospital you will have the surgery in. Make sure that both surgeon and the hospital have a health tourism authorization certificate. Those who do not have this document issued by the Minister of Health are not authorized to bring patients from abroad. Those who have this document, they do the job according to the rules.
Remember, the surgeon's capital is the care he puts into his work. When you ask for the documents that I mentioned, those who have these documents will be very eager to share them with you.
Your health is more important than anything else. Make sure that you don't decide on the fake photos.
